International Honours for the Hornets

A fantastic weekend for the Hornets as we had 6 players who gained representational honours at under 16’s level.

Lewis Dodd and Brad O’Neill started for England with Billy Glover, Will Smith, Harvey and Keenan McDaid turning out for Wales.

On Saturday 2nd September at Cardiff Metropolitan University Wales Rugby League welcomed England Rugby League in the autumn internationals and claimed a historic first ever win over England 18-10.

The Welsh took an early lead but England hit back to take the lead with Lewis Dodd converting England’s try.

Wales were in no mood to surrender and dominated the second half to record a famous victory.

Billy Glover capped off an outstanding performance for Wales as he was names Man-of-the-match.

Unfortunately, after the match euphoria was soured when Brad O’Neill had to be taken to hospital with what turned out to be a serious liver injury.

He is currently being treated in Cardiff hospital but will hopefully be moved closer to home where he can receive specialist care.

Everyone at the Hornets sends Brad their best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
