Celebration Night 2022

We held our annual Celebration Night on Friday, which took place in our new Clubhouse, The Wilmere Lounge. 🐝🏉❤️💚🖤

It was a great night enjoyed by all but before the party really got going with Disco Bingo, it was time to hand out some very special awards in recognition for their contribution to the club.

Handed out by our Chairman Brian Tobin 1st up was the Dave Walsh Presidents award in recognition for outstanding contribution to the club over many years. This proudly went to Darren Hayes (2020) and Andy McClean (2021).

The Joe Martin awards in recognition for their outstanding voluntary service to the club for the year went to Neil Cowell & Chris Froes (2020) and Danny Durbin (2021).

The last award the Colin Fillingham award is presented annually to a player selected from the age groups U10’s to U13’s. For their commitment to training, team mates, coaches, ability and a role model. This went to James Prescott.
Well done to all our amazing award winners 🏆👏

With the new year comes the new season! And we cannot wait to get back to training, with most of our teams starting this week.

We are currently in the process of updating all our teams’ webpage information, it is great to see so many teams registering for the 2022 season, what a great one it’s going to be!

And with the renovation of The Wilmere Lounge coming to a close, we certainly cannot wait to get in and start using the amazing space that’s been created for all our teams to use for years to come!

Christmas Toy Appeal

It’s around this time of the year we start thinking about those less fortunate than ourselves. The last few years we’ve collected donations for the homeless and the local food bank and the response has been breathtaking, thank you.

The majority of our members are children and as an adult, the thought of a child waking up without a gift on Christmas Day is hard to comprehend. With this in mind, we have decided to collect donations for the Halton Christmas Toy Appeal. This organisation not only helps local groups such as the food bank and women’s refuge but also helps individuals and families within our community.

We would like to ask all our members who are able, to donate a brand new toy or gift for a child of ages from birth upto 18 years of age, girls and boys. We intend to collect all donations on SATURDAY 4TH DECEMBER at the Hornet’s Nest between 10am to 6pm.

If you would like to donate but unable to make that date, please speak to Anne Marie Yates or Sharon McLean who will be happy to arrange a collection.

We are confident given the response to previous appeals that you will once again amaze us in your kindness and generosity.
Many thanks.
